Monday 21/9 Short talk, and Fairtrade products to try at Havant Green Party meeting
Thursday 24/9 Tea Tasting with Chat Over Chai in the Havelock Centre, Southsea
Friday 25/9 10.30-12 Fairtrade coffee morning at the Peace Centre 15 Middle Park Way, Havant, PO9 4AB
Talk on Fairtrade to the Peace Centre members during Friday prayers
Sunday 27th Sept 4pm Tea at Christ Church, Milton United Reformed Church (Milton Rd PO4 8PH)
Tuesday 29/9 10-12 Members’ Cuppa and Catch-up with Fairtrade tea tasting for Macmillan cancer care Coop Funeralcare, Havant
Friday 2/10 from 9 am. Fairtrade stall and banana give-away – Cascades Shopping Centre, Portsmouth
Sat 3/10 Coffee morning at St Faith’s church
Sunday 4th October Fairtrade breakfast at St Thomas Cathedral after each morning service 8am, 9.30 and 11am
Tuesday 6/10 Lord Mayor’s coffee morning Portsmouth Guildhall

Together, our actions can have a positive impact on real people’s lives. Fairer pay, fairer treatment, fairer futures – that’s Fairtrade.
For over 30 years Fairtrade has been supporting over 2 million Fairtrade farmers and workers across 58 countries to ensure they can earn a fairer wage and extra money to spend in their community. It’s also about tackling the effects of a changing climate, giving more power to women and protecting the environment.
We believe the cost of responding to climate change should not be carried by farmers and workers least able to afford it – the businesses that profit most must take responsibility for their actions.
This year we are calling on people to support the Do It Fair campaign and demand a new law that holds businesses accountable for any abuse or climate damage behind their products. Irresponsible businesses benefiting from global supply chains cannot keep profiting from deforestation, exploitation, and climate damage. Another thing we have been doing this year in Portsmouoth is to try and find 100 outlets which are selling or serving at least two Fairtrade products. This is part of the Portsmouth 100 celebrations. And we have made it!!! See the list here.

We hope that as many groups as possible will publicise and use Fairtrade products. Could you hold a special service? Organise a Fairtrade coffee morning? Hold a tea party or tea tasting? Show a film? This can link in with any applications you are making for Eco Church status
So do take the opportunity to encourage ideas of fairness in our shared world and show how buying products with the Fairtrade Mark can make a real difference to some of the poorest people in the world.
If you are working with young people, why not request a schools pack from the Fairtrade Foundation. Help pupils discover why climate change is a question of fairness, and how it connects to the food we enjoy every day. Around the world, farmers growing products such as cocoa, coffee and bananas are already experiencing the effects of extreme weather, despite contributing least to the climate crisis.
Through Fairtrade, farming communities are responding by working with nature: protecting soil and water, supporting biodiversity, and building resilience to a changing climate. These approaches help safeguard both livelihoods and the environment for the future.
The resource pack includes ready-to-use presentations, interactive games, classroom activities and teacher guides, making it easy to bring these important topics to life in the classroom.
